If You Enjoy The Internet
you have to know that it is going to change radically and if you want to
keep browsing in future, you will be paying a lot more for the privilege,
as is explained here. "(By 2010) Bell Canada and TELUS, Canada’s two
largest Internet service providers (ISPs), will begin charging per-site fees on
most Internet sites, reports anonymous sources within TELUS... Bell Canada has
not returned calls or emails. The plans made by the large telecom businesses
would change the Internet into a cable-like system, where customers sign up for
specific web sites, and must pay to see each individual site beyond a certain
point. Subscription browsing would be limited, extra fees would be applied to
access out-of-network sites. Many sites would be blocked altogether. “We had
inside sources from bigger companies who gave us the information on how
exclusivity deals are being made at this moment between ISPs and big content
providers (like TV production studios and major video game publishers) to decide
which web sites will be in the ‘standard package’ offered to their customers,
leaving all the rest of the Internet unreachable unless you pay extra
subscription fees per every ‘non-standard’ site you visit,” Leysen said."

A lot of
Canadian Newspapers are targeted to local or regional audiences.
Some are written in a way that might assist special populations such as persons
who have low incomes or new arrivals to Canada who are seeking jobs and housing.
Other special populations of readership could include older persons or single
parents. These publications are free in English or French in Canada. They are
usually written in a brief and to-the-point style. Therefore, if you want to
understand the context and background of the topics you have to read the same
information in a more detailed format in the big newspapers like
The Globe and Mail,
The Toronto Star,
Toronto Sun,
Le Journal de Montreal, and the
National Post which is the newest but has quickly grown to become a national
newspaper.

The name Toronto found its way to the current city via its use
in the name the
Toronto Carrying-Place Trail (or Toronto Passage), a
portage running between
Lake Ontario and
Georgian Bay that passed through Lake Toronto, which in
turn was used as the name for an early French fort located at
the foot of the Toronto Passage, on Lake Ontario. The Severn
River, its outlet stream, was once called 'Riviere de Toronto'
which flows into Georgian Bay's Severn Sound, then called the 'Baie
de Toronto'."
Canada
is from "Kanata", meaning
"settlement" or "village" in the language of the Huron.
Ontario
is a Huron name, first applied to
the lake, and may be a corruption of "onitariio" (meaning
"beautiful lake") or Kanadario, which translates as "sparkling"
or "beautiful" water.
Quebec comes from Aboriginal
Peoples' first used the name "kebek" for the region around the
city of Québec. It refers to the Algonquin word for "narrow
passage" or "strait" to indicate the narrowing of the river at
Cape Diamond.
